Sanjay Bakshi, M.D., D.A.B.P.M.

Dr. Sanjay Baskshi relocated to Florida and is currently working with the Florida Division of Garden State Medical Center.

Dr. Bakshi joined Daniel E. Fox, MD and The Center for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in 2007.  Dr. Bakshi is TRIPLE BOARD CERTIFIED and FELLOWSHIP trained in Pain Management.

Dr. Bakshi did his training at JOHNS HOPKINS, where he also taught residents and fellows.  During his residency, Dr. Bakshi received the DRIPPS AWARD for Outstanding Anesthesia Resident. 

Dr. Bakshi's area of expertise is primarily in MINIMALLY INVASIVE THERAPIES FOR THE TREATMENT OF PAIN OF SPINAL ORIGIN - NECK AND BACK PAIN.

Dr. Bakshi specializes in EPIDURAL INJECTIONS, SELECTIVE NERVE ROOT BLOCKS, RADIOFREQUENCY FACET DENERVATIONS, SACROILIAC BLOCKS, DISCOGRAPHY, TRIGGER POINT AND OTHER JOINT INJECTIONS.

In New Jersey, Dr. Bakshi performs his procedures at the Physician's Surgery Center located in Toms River, NJ and Metropolitan Surgical Center in South Amboy, NJ.  Dr. Bakshi is also on staff at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, New York and Bayshore Community Hospital in New Jersey.

Dr. Bakshi was selected, yearly since 2012, as "Best Doctors" by Castle Connolly in New York Magazine and U.S. World & News Report and New York Times Super Docs in 2014 and 2015.

Dr. Bakshi has been interviewed by the media on: ABC, 7 On Call; WCJB ABC News; WB11 New York and Fox 5 News.

Dr. Bakshi has co-authored numerous textbooks in the field of Pain Management. He is also very active in the field of SPINAL CORD STIMULATION.

Dr. Bakshi has served as a contributor for the Responsible, Safe, and Effective Prescription of Opioids for Chronic Non-Cancer Pain: American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (ASIPP) Guidelines.

Dr Bakshi is the Past President of the NY Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and the Vice President of Strategic Affairs for the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.

Thomas Agesen, M.D.

Dr. Thomas Agesen is currently associated with Garden State Medical Center.

Dr. Agesen joined The Center for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in 2017.  He is BOARD-CERTIFIED in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with a Sub-Speciality in Sports Medicine. Dr. Agesen did a fellowship in Sports Medicine at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation through the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), in Newark.

His specialties include sports medicine, electrodiagnostics (EMG/NCS), treatment of acute and chronic tendon, ligament and joint disorders, as well as PRP and STEM CELL PROCEDURES. He also specializes in treating acute and chronic back and neck conditions.

Dr. Agesen completed his undergraduate education at The Pennsylvania State University and graduated from UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School. He completed his internship at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, New Hyde Park, New York and his residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell Campus, New York City.

Following his fellowship training in Sports Medicine, Electrodiagnostics and Epidural injection procedures, Dr. Agesen worked briefly as an attending at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in West Orange, New Jersey. He then joined Associates in Rehabilitation Medicine for four years. Dr. Agesen then started New Jersey Sports Medicine, LLC with Doctors Malanga and Bowen.

Dr. Agesen grew up in Essex County, where he still lives with his wife and four children. Dr. Agesen was a starter for the Union Lancers Soccer Team, 2 time McGuire Cup National Champions in 1986 and 1987. He was a four year starter for the Penn State University Soccer team, an Adidas Athletic/Academic All-American, and was captain of the 1990-91 Penn State team. He, along with his partners, is the team physician for local high schools and universities. He enjoys treating competitive athletes and sports enthusiasts of all ages and levels.

Andrew S. Levy, M.D.

Dr. Andrew Levy is currently associated with Garden State Medical Center.

Dr. Levy worked with Dr. Daniel Fox over the past decade performing exceptional sports medicine and arthroscopic procedures including cartilege restoration procedures, partial joint replacements, sports trauma and complex arthroscopic shoulder, knee, ankle and elbow procedures.

In early 2018, Dr. Andrew Levy joined Dr. Daniel Fox and the Center For Orthopedic and Sports Medicine as a member of our staff. Dr. Levy still has a busy practice in North Jersey. However, he finds time to treat and take care of patients at COSM, and operates at the Physician Surgery Center, both located in Toms River, New Jersey. The Center is honored to have Dr. Levy join us.

Dr. Levy performs all types of complex arthroscopic and sports medicine procedures, including subchondroplasty procedure for knees, which he helped develop and is an alternate procedure to many patients who may need total joint replacements. Dr. Levy also lectures all of the world on innovations in orthopedics.

Dr. Andrew S. Levy is a board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon who completed his fellowship training in Sports Medicine and Shoulder at Duke University Medical Center. His Sports Medicine practice includes both non-operative and surgical treatment of athletes of all levels, ranging from the professional to the weekend warrior. Dr. Levy also treats shoulder problems of all types including fractures, dislocations, impingement, rotator cuff tears and arthritis.

Michael Rieber, M.D.

Dr. Michael Rieber is currently practicing in North Jersey.

Dr. Rieber joined Dr. Daniel Fox and COSM in 2018. Dr. Rieber has been practicing in Livingston, NJ for more than 15 years and is recognized as one of the New Jersey Top Docs in orthopedic surgery. Dr. Rieber was the director of Joint Institute at St. Barnabas Medical Center and is an assistant team physician for the New Jersey Devils, New Jersey Red Bulls professional soccer team, as well as Newark Bears baseball team.

Dr. Rieber performs all types of orthopedic surgery focusing on sports medicine on athletes of all types. He performs complex orthoscopic procedures throughout the body, focusing on shoulders and knees. Dr. Rieber sees patients at COSM and does procedures at the Physician Surgery Center, both located in Toms River, New Jersey.

W. Francis Kennard, M.D.

Dr. W. Francis Kennard has retired from practice.

Dr. Kennard joined Daniel E. Fox, MD and The Center for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in 2014.  Dr. Kennard is BOARD-CERTIFIED in Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Kennard specializes in Total Joint Replacement, Surgical treatment of Arthritis of the Hip, Knee, Shoulder and Elbow, as well as General Orthopedics, Trauma, Sports Medicine, and Arthroscopic Surgery.

Dr. Kennard is from Baltimore, Maryland. He attended Medical School at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Kennard did his orthopedic surgical training at the Hospital for Special Surgery, in New York City; which is the orthopedic teaching hospital of the Cornell University Medical Center, and is ranked as the Top Orthopedic Program in the Country.

Dr. Kennard is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery. In addition he is a member of the New Jersey Orthopedic Society, the American Medical Association, the New Jersey Medical Society and Ocean County Medical Society.  Dr. Kennard is a Certified Independent Medical Examiner. In addition, he is a member of the American Association of Hip & Knee Surgeons, American Board of Independent Medical Examiners, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.

As a member of the Center for Orthopedic Sports Medicine, Dr. Kennard was on staff at Community Medical Center, Southern Ocean County Hospital, and Physicians SurgiCenter. Dr. Kennard saw patients in our Toms River office and The Center for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine wishes him the best of luck on his retirement.
